What We Do
The American Boxwood Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the appreciation of the species Buxus. We provide educational opportunities, both static and dynamic, for members and the public. ABS encourages the propagation of selections that improve the functionality and aesthetics of boxwood in the landscape. We support research in the challenges to boxwood from insects and diseases, and from abiotic causes of damage. Our publication, the Boxwood Bulletin is sent to members and becomes available to the public after a period of time for research purposes. A Board of Directors guides various committees in the execution of the business of the association, and members contribute skills towards the accomplishment of our mission.
